Weekends.
Lots of people get excited for them.
Not me.
What's the hype anyway?
Mr Black is home, adding another voice to the mix of demands, wants, "needs".
We are usually so busy you can't squeeze in the time to use the toilet, or we have so little to do that we are watching dust fall.
My kids, they get up earlier on the weekend. Yes, the weekend, the only time I can squeeze in a bit of a snooze in the morning, except, well I can't.
People are more likley to "just drop in". A pet hate of mine.
The house is messier.
I am grumpier.
Weekends.
Give me the structure of a weekday any day.
I'm not a fan of the 'drop-in' visit at all...yet the same people keep on doing it to me, even after I have mentioned it...meh
ReplyDeleteOMG, I hate the 'drop in' visits with a passion! hello, if I wanted you to come over, I would have asked you. So annoying. Sometimes we don't answer the door. even though both our cars are out the front. screw it!
ReplyDeleteThankfully, most people know us well enough to NOT drop in. Which is brilliant. Im lucky as both my children have never been early risers. Boy Child is a teenager so is sleeping a lot and Girl Child (8) can amuse herself. Sometimes I can actually enjoy sleep ins on the weekends. Bonus of having older kids.
ReplyDeletePeople do the drop in over here but because I am an unfriendly grump, it tends not to happen at my place.
ReplyDeleteOh gawd, I hate weekends too... Fortunately we have big gates with big locks and an intercom so no-one can just do the drop in! I recommend the intercom and a locked gate.
ReplyDeleteBut we often have nothing planned so the weekend passes in a blur of never-ending-meals because no-one wants to eat at the same time as anyone else, and nappy changes, television shows and toy car crashes (the current favourite game)...
Drop ins shit me. My family are gold medal drop inners. X
ReplyDeleteI do love my weekends, but there are times {ahem... last weekend} when I think, "these weekends aren't all I've worked them up to be".
